• The Jacob Ballas Children’s Garden offers free guided tours for the public.
  • These tours are conducted by volunteer guides (children-parent pairs).
  • The tours take place on Saturdays and Sundays, 9-10 am and 4-5 pm.
     
  • As long as you are a Primary 1-6 student, you can join with your parent or guardian.
  • Both must attend training and conduct the tours together.
     
  • You will have to fulfill the required 10 hours of training (including briefing, familiarization, shadowing opportunities, trial and assessment) before becoming a full-fledged guide.
  • Training sessions will be carried out by staff and experienced guides of the Singapore Botanic Gardens.
  • Training is always conducted on Saturdays and during school holidays.
     

10 hours of volunteer guiding will earn you:

 
  • 10 hours of Community Involvement Programme (CIP) points
  • Invitation to an Annual Tea hosted by the Director of the Gardens
  • Gardenwise, a Bi-annual Publication of the Gardens
  • Volunteer T-shirt
  • Invitation to Talks by Experts in the Field
  • Invitation to Special Events and Previews
  • Discounts at the Gardens’ Gift Shops and Food & Beverage Outlets
